Living
Harmony And Peace at Ubud Bali by: B. Wira Utama, S.H
Under
the bright sunrise in the early morning, an old woman walking
in one of the side-street of Ubud Bali accompanied
by a rather big dog. In front of her there were standing about
8 to 10 dogs watching and waiting them to pass over. "Do
not you afraid, mom?" I asked the old woman, "that the
dogs over there will fight together and hurt your dog?" The
old woman laugh and said, "No!" "Where are you
going, mom?" I asked her again. "To the central market".
"With your dog?" "Yes, why not?'
When
the old woman and her dog passing over the place where the gang
of dogs get together, about rwo or three of them coming to meet
that coming with the old woman, who in turn walk aside avoiding
the intruders. So, was also happened when the other -
members
of the gang of dogs standing in front of the coming dog trying
likely to stop its way. But the old woman's dog smoothly and peacefully
passing over them to accompany the old woman to the central market.
When
the old woman is busy buying everything she need in the market,
her dog is waiting her in the market's yard, playing with other
dogs there or trying to get something to be eat. There is no worries
at all at the dog's face when meeting a lot people there coming
in and out the market.
In
the contrary, women or men in the market given no sign at all
that they were afraid or being threatened by the present of a
lots of dogs in the ways to and from the market.
So,
PEACE and HARMONY, the atmosphere that we could find only in Ubud
Bali Indonesia.
