My name is Nyoman Subandi from Ubud Bali. I am a portrait sculptor who can make custom portrait sculpture for you.
I live at Monkey Forest Street in Ubud Bali. And I am the only portrait scupltor here. I am a sculptor family. My late grandfather and my father are also sculptor who made wooden sculpture. I learn basic sculpting skill from both my late grandfather and my father.
Now I am a portrait sculptor who specially making portrait sculpure. The specialty of my portrait sculptures are made from recycled paper or paper waste. It is inspired by the many paper waste or useless paper strewn around us. Actually this paper waste can be sold just to be utilized as the recycled paper, but because I want to the waste paper has more value then the one I use as material for my portrait sculptures. And it works.
To make the portrait sculpture with paper waste, these paper first I though to a pulp or paper mache. Then the pulp is mixed with wood glue to make it to be strong and durable. After fitting a new pulp dough formed into a statue. And then drying it under the sunshine. The longer the drying the quality of the sculpture will be better.
Because the material of portrait sculpture that I made is paper waste so it is so light and easy to carry everywhere. And making it suitable for personal collections or to be used as souvenir.
